| Kaleider theatre partnership wins £361,779 |
|
A new partnership of Exeter theatre organisations including Daisi will receive funding from Arts Council England's 'Strategic Investment in Theatre' fund. The aim of the grant programme is to provide theatre performances for Exeter audiences and to support theatre makers to ensure that the city has a vibrant and diverse theatre sector over the next three years. Kaleider is a partnership between Theatre Alibi, Exeter Northcott, Exeter Phoenix, the University of Exeter and Daisi, led by Seth Honnor. The partnership will deliver an artistic and cultural programme for Exeter, including a commissioning fund to create new works during the three years. The new commissions will create theatre in unconventional places for audiences who may not regularly attend theatres. Daisi's role will be to involve children and young people in the opportunities provided by this project, including the creation of new works. Liz Hill, Director of Daisi, said: 'We're excited to be working as part of Kaleider to bring artistic and cultural experience into the lives of children and young people. The involvement of young people will bring theatre into the heart of local communities and will add a freshness and immediacy to the work.' |
