Wordquest Devon is launching a Devon wide poetry competition for young people, supported by creative writing workshops provided by Daisi. The first ten schools to book workshops as part of this project will receive a 10% discount on the workshop fee, provided by Wordquest Devon. Poems can be about their favourite place in Devon, from their garden to their attic, to the wild moors or sandy beaches. A first prize of a £25 book token, a second prize of a £15 book token and a third prize of a £5 book token will be awarded in each of the following categories: 5 – 7 years 8 – 10 years 11 – 13 years 14 – 16 years All prize winners will be invited to read their work on Wordquest Devon’s Radio Programme on Soundart Radio – 102.5fm and will also have their poems published on the Wordquest Devon website – www.wordquestdevon.info - and on the Devon Libraries and Cyprus Well websites. Wordquest Creative Writing WorkshopsIn partnership with Wordquest Devon, Daisi is excited to offer one day creative writing workshops with professional authors, designed to enrich and support young people’s creative skills and experiences. Each workshop is tailored to the requirements of the group, and can address creative writing using a range of methods. The cost of each workshop is £260 plus travel costs.
