Celebrating Our World Festival

Exeter Central Learning Community came together at Exeter Northcott on 10th July to share their achievements during their Celebrating Our World Festival 2009.

The aim of the Celebrating Our World Festival was to foster cultural understanding and community cohesion.  The children worked with their peers from neighbouring schools during the project, giving them a chance to meet and work together with new people from their community. They learned about different cultures through taking part in exciting arts workshops, including dance, sculpture, music, drumming, batik and mask-making - all led by professional artists.

Anita Reynolds COW

Students from Newtown Primary, St Leonard's Primary and Exeter Deaf Academy work with artist Anita Reynolds to create a batik wall hanging.

A documentary film about the project, made by artists Stuart Dawson and Josh Gaunt, will be displayed here shortly.
