Devon Youth Dance Company provides an opportunity for young dancers aged between 12 and 18 to work with professional dance artists, create new work of the highest standard, and perform their work across the region. In addition to working with Artistic Director Rohanna Eade, last year's company had the opportunity to create a dance piece with Filip Van Huffell and Retina Youth Dance Company as well as Hannes Langolf from DV8. This year the company members will get two days working with guest artist Racquel Meseguer, co-founder of Lost Dog who won the The Place prize in 2010. Performances will take place at Exeter Northcott Theatre, The Ariel Centre and as part of the U Dance Platform in Bournemouth. Company members have the option of completing the Arts Award through their involvement with the company, which gives them the opportunity to earn a nationally recognised qualification through dance.
